A New Notebook For Inspiration

Crisp clean new paper, your favorite pen or pencil, a song that fills your heart everytime you hear it. Many writers have loads of inspirations to jumpstart their writing. Mine just happen to be a new notebook. Somehow the opening of a new notebook signals new words to be written. Hey, whatever it takes. It doesn't matter the size, shape or pattern, if it's new paper or a pen, I want it. Now with the stores putting school supplies on sale, that's my sign to go and buy my new paper for the season. Oh yeah, I guess I should get some school supplies for my kids too.

Two of my weaknesses are: pens and notebooks or paper. Tell me as a writer, that's not a good weakness to have. Well I'm off to write in my brand new notebook. (and school supplies)

OMG...that's SOOO me. I love buying new notebooks and pens and pencils. I'm a total freak when it comes to office supplies.

Ohhhhhh my gurd do I loooove paper. New paper. The look, the smell, the feel of new paper signifies more than just writing to me. It's just so refreshing. I've been a paper addict since I was little. Being that I am also a cartoonist, I do nuts when I can get new paper.

I'm glad I'm not in this boat alone. A cartoonist, Gina that must be exciting.

I like to write on pen and paper, but what really kickstarts my inspiration it's a new electronic toy (and it's not that kind of toy, Diane!). *lol* First it was a PC Pocket with portable keyboard. Now a memory card reader. *g*

I love the "pen squishies" you can put on your pencil or pen ~ as long as my fingers aren't hurtin' I'm good. If I don't have my AlphaSmart handy, putting pen (or pencil) to paper will get me thru. Sometimes the need to write over-rules the availability of electornic devices! My DH will attest to my love of office supplies... I can finally tell him I'm not the only writer looking for office supply sales! In my world, sitting at a computer all day isn't an option...

Oh, man, there are few things more wonderful than finding the perfect pen. I love that feeling when the paper is fresh and the pen is just right--heaven.

Stopping by via Romance Divas! Great blog!

Ohhhh, office/school supplies. As a former teacher, nothing gets me so excited!!!

As a writer, I have to have a diet cherry coke with me!

These days I write on the computer, but I still flesh out ideas with pen and paper. The ideas seem to flow faster by hand than when I type.

Thank God! I'm not alone! I was formerly embarassed about my love of new notebooks and pens. Now I will hold my head up high! I have 20--20!! new notebooks waiting for me! My Dh stole my favorite pen, and then to hideh is guilt, gave it to my daughter. I now have it back. It's in hiding. Ahhh, the fluidity if the pen ball flowing over the paper...I'm in love.

I'm like Anna Lee though, I write on the puter, and I note and outline on paper.

I use those Gel G2 ink pens -- I have this thing about strong, vivid ink. I even use them in the b&w cartoons because a lot of thin markers are too light.

Diane, you mentioned being a cartoonist as being possibly exciting -- Not for me at least. It's just something I do, but I'm not a professional. And even professional cartoonists are like many writers - they do it all day, every day, and they have no life. LOL
